Pear Berry Crisp

This is another recipe that I found on Allrecipes.com. However the recipe you will find here will vary slightly from the recipe used in the previous link. I changed a few things, but I am sure the original recipe is fantastic as well! Though I must say, I absolutely LOVED this one here.

Apologies about lacking photos...my camera is low on batteries and will not upload. I will be sure to post them as soon as I have time to grab some new batteries!

Ingredients:

  • 2 Comice pears - peeled, cored, and cubed [I used 5 small old-fashioned pears...approximately 1-2 Cups worth]
  • 1 Cup of mixed berry blend [raspberries, blueberries, and marionberries]
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour [I used a bit more than this]
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup quick cooking oats [Again, I threw in a bit more of this as well]
  • 1/2 cup butter

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease an 8 inch baking dish

Mix the pears, berries, 1 tablespoon flour, and honey a in the prepared dish

In a bowl, mix 1/2 cup flour, brown sugar, oats, and butter to the consistency of coarse crumbs. Sprinkle loosely over the fruit mixture

Bake 45 minutes in the preheated oven, or until brown and crisp on top

Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 45 minutes
Total time: 60 minutes

Although I rarely cook or bake, I must admit that your pictures have me drooling! I enjoy your blog very much. I like the white background that you are using since it makes it easy to read. The recipes seem simple, especially with your instructions. You add some great detail there. I also appreciate your photos--especially knowing that they are your own. They definitely add to your blog and make me want to try the recipes. I never pick up a cookbook that does not have pictures and the same would go for reading a blog.

This Pear Berry Crisp has me hunting the kitchen for something yummy and sweet. Can't wait to see the picture!

This sounds delicious. I made a pear pie last month with crumb topping, and it was a nice alternative to apple. I think I would use less brown sugar next time, though. It was a bit too sweet for my taste.
